Scope
The principal purpose of the Municipal Cycle Sport Strategy was to identify the cycle sport facility needs of the community and develop a strategic facility development and management plan for a municipal cycle sport facility.
What we did
- Assessed the demand for recreation facilities for the estimated future population
- Reviewed the demand and supply of cycle facilities in Moreland
- Completed a detailed literature review
- Carried out detailed consultation with Council staff, stakeholders, user groups and members of the community
- Performed an existing facilities needs assessment, which identified any shortfall in facilities
- Analysed national, state and municipality wide cycling participation data and trends
