Scope
The principal purpose of the Recreation Facilities Strategy was to inform the proposed Canada Bay Section 94 Development Contributions Plan. Council needed to ensure that open space and recreation facilities were maintained to best practice standards to support the expected population growth within the region.
What we did
- Assessed the demand for recreation facilities for the estimated future population
- Responsed to the objectives of Futures 20 Plan
- Undertook a detailed literature review
- Carried out detailed consultation with Council staff
- Performed an existing facilities needs assessment, which identified any shortfall in facilities
- Identified and recommended recreation facilities for the City’s estimated population growth
